Privacy Policy - We respect your right to privacy

SkipVids Ltd ("SkipVids", "we", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy while providing an enhanced, ad-free interface for watching publicly available YouTube videos via the YouTube iframe API.

1. Information We Collect

• Account data – e-mail address, hashed password (if you register with e-mail) and optional display name (required for premium features).
• Google account data – if you choose "Sign in with Google", we receive your name, e-mail address, profile picture and Google account ID. We request no other Google scopes and cannot access your YouTube history, Gmail, Drive or any other Google data.
• Payment data – card brand, last four digits, country, expiry month/year as returned by Stripe Payments Europe Ltd. No raw card numbers ever hit our servers.
• Usage data – non-identifiable analytics (page views, video-ID requests, feature clicks). IP addresses remain in server logs for up to 24 hours for abuse and fraud prevention.
• Cookies & local storage – strictly necessary session cookies plus local-storage items for theme, language and autoplay settings. We set no third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

2. Why We Process Your Data (Art 6 GDPR)

• Contract – to create your account, deliver premium features and process payments.
• Legitimate interest – to prevent fraud, secure the service and compile anonymous statistics.
• Consent – when you opt into beta features or marketing e-mails (you can withdraw at any time).
• Legal obligation – to comply with tax, accounting and AML regulations.

3. Third-Party Services

• YouTube – videos embedded via the YouTube iframe API; see the Google Privacy Policy.
• Google Sign-In – optional sign-in provided by Google; see the Google Privacy Policy.
• Stripe Payments – processes all subscription payments; see the Stripe Privacy Policy.
• Error & performance logs – stored on our servers.

4. How We Use Google User Data

• Use – Google account data is used solely to create and sign you in to your SkipVids account and to link your premium subscription to it.
• Storage – your e-mail address, name and Google account ID are stored in our account database. Your profile picture is loaded from Google and not stored by us.
• Sharing – we do not sell, rent or share Google user data with any third party, and we do not use it for advertising or to train AI/ML models.
• Deletion – delete your account in settings or e-mail us and all Google account data is erased within 30 days. You can also revoke SkipVids' access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
• Compliance – SkipVids' use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

5. Data Retention

• Subscription invoices & tax records – 7 years (statutory).
• Account data (including Google account data) – until you delete the account or 24 months after last login, whichever is sooner.
• Server logs – 24 hours, then anonymised.

6. Your Rights

You may exercise the GDPR rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability by e-mailing [email protected]. UK/EU residents may complain to their local data-protection authority.

7. Children

The Service is not directed at children under 13. You must be at least 18 to purchase a subscription.

8. Changes

Material changes will be announced via an in-app banner and e-mail seven (7) days before they take effect.
